Pride in Carmarthenshire
Llanelli station — upgraded for everyone
Llanelli station has had a £6.3 million upgrade through the government’s Access for All scheme — a new fully accessible footbridge with lift, improved ramped access, upgraded CCTV, lighting and tactile paving. If you use that station to get to work or get around, it’s now a better place to do it.
A new route — free to use, built to last
The Tywi Valley Path is a brand new off-road walking and cycling route through the Tywi Valley, officially opened in May 2026. It’s free, open to everyone, and designed to bring visitors into Carmarthenshire from across the UK — supporting local businesses and jobs for the long term.
Owen’s story
Owen is a lifelong resident of Llandeilo in Carmarthenshire – former mayor, community volunteer and football club stalwart. For him, what makes the area special is simple:
“Everyone just chips in. That’s what I love about the people here.”
Local clubs getting what they need
Over £44,000 has gone to sports clubs and recreation grounds across Carmarthenshire in 2025/26.
Ammanford AFC received £25,000 and Calsonic Kansei Swiss Valley AFC just under £20,000 — both for pitch maintenance and storage. Facilities fit for the players who use them. This funding is provided by the UK Government and delivered through the Cymru Football Foundation.
