Pride in Place programme
Pride in Place is the government’s flagship community investment programme, putting funding decisions in the hands of local people. Over the next decade, the programme will invest up to £5.8 billion into local areas across the UK — delivering up to £20 million in funding and support to nearly 400 of the most in-need neighbourhoods.
With Pride in Place, residents, businesses, and community groups will deliver real improvements that matter to communities. This is led by local people and backed by the UK government.
Communities will be able to spend the funding on what matters most to them – from improvements to pavements and high streets to investing in culture and green spaces.

Other funding programmes
A range of additional programmes are available to support local communities, from revitalising high streets to putting more buses on the roads. Here are just some examples of the types of government funding on offer.
High Streets Strategy Fund
The government is investing £150 million to breathe new life into high streets, targeting areas with empty shop fronts and a lack of essential services.
Community Right to Buy
New powers in the English Devolution and Community Empowerment Bill will allow communities to buy local assets that matter to them, with match funding of up to £2 million available.
Structures Fund
Local authorities across England can now apply for funding to repair vital infrastructure – including bridges, flyovers and tunnels – as part of a record £1 billion package to improve England’s roads.
Creative Foundations Fund
The Creative Foundations Fund helps arts and cultural organisations carry out essential repairs and upgrades, with up to £425m available between 2025 to 2030. The fund uses uses UK Government and Arts Council England funding.
Creative Places for Growth Fund
Six mayoral regions – Greater Manchester, Liverpool City Region, North East, West of England, West Midlands and West Yorkshire – have received £25 million to grow their creative industries.
Multi-Sports Grassroots Facilities Programme
The Multi-Sport Grassroots Facilities Programme is delivering funding to make essential facility improvements, so that communities have high-quality pitches to play on. In 2025/26, it invested £98 million to support facilities across the whole of the UK.
